Mark Quinsey 23 from Birmingham and Patrick Azimkar 21 from London were shot at the base on Saturday. The Real IRA said they killed the soldiers who were attacked as they accepted a pizza delivery. Several hundred people attended the service including colleagues from 38 Engineer Regiment. Soldiers from other regiments garrisoned in Northern Ireland also attended as well as representatives from Antrim including clergymen. The hearses carried the coffins draped in the Union flag through the base led by Army chaplains.

RFS LLC signed a multi-store-development agreement and plans to open its first location in the next 12 months said a news release. The release did not indicate exact locations for the restaurants and only said RFS principles are local businessmen. Dunkin’ said it is looking for additional franchisees to open locations in the area including numerous outlying counties. The opening of the stores is part of Dunkin’ Donut’s growth strategy which includes expanding in potential and existing markets said the release.

Regions spokesman Tim Deighton confirmed the layoffs Wednesday but said staffing adjustments are not uncommon within the bank’s various loan departments. The bank recently announced plans to suspend its employees’ 401 (k) matching contributions and pension plan accruals to avoid cutting 1400 jobs. Birmingham-based Regions Financial Corp. (NYSE:RF) operates 86 financial centers in the local market.

At least 65 percent of local employers plan to run their businesses with their current staff levels and another 16 percent plan to purge their payrolls of more workers. The 13 percent of employers that do have plans to beef up their staff levels will do so at a “cautious pace” according to the survey. Six percent of the employers surveyed are not certain of their hiring plans.
