(AP) — A Birmingham man remains incarcerated on $500000 bond charged in the Aug. slaying of store clerk in the downtown area. Birmingham Police said 22-year-old Maxson Flie is accused of killing 22-year-old Mohammed Hadi. The shooting occurred Aug. 14 at a BP gas station on Third Avenue.

The family’s chocolate Lab is at The Dog Pound in Athens where a veterinarian is treating the for burns to its paws and face. The three were burned when a wood-burning stove apparently caught their mobile home on fire around 4 a.
