08 | tribalfootball. com Birmingham striker Mikael Forssell has admitted he needs to carry on scoring if he is to knock Formula ne star Kimi Raikkonen off the back pages of the newspapers in their native Finland. Forssell and Raikkonen have often vied for publicity back home and the former’s hat-trick against Tottenham in City’s last home game a fortnight ago earned him plenty of headlines. But now Forssell knows he will go head to head with Raikkonen who on Sunday will launch the defence of his world title in Australia. Forssell can grab another slice of publicity if he repeats the form he showed against Spurs in Monday’s home league clash with struggling Newcastle.

Barry describes the letter as “dramatic cinematic and poignant” but it’s typical of him to come up with such an unexpected text. The Portsmouth fans are dreaming on FA Cup success after the giant-killing acts that took place in the quarter-finals. Pompey who defeated Birmingham 4-2 in the Premier League in midweek are now billed as favourites to lift the silverware. United was Redknapp’s third in the FA Cup over the ld Trafford giants having pulled it off with Bournemouth in 1984 and West Ham in 2001. In the Premiership today Port-smouth host Aston Villa a side on the crest of a wave after they lost only once in 13 matches. In midweek the Villans stretched their run with a draw against Middlesbrough… The Hammers must halt this slide against Blackburn who have lost only once in 11 league matches. Birmingham just one slot outside the relegation trapdoor face Newcastle who are just two points ahead of them. In this cut-throat struggle the home side feel they can put the Toon further down in the mire of relegation but Kevin Keegan has ordered his players to ‘dig deep’ to avoid the drop. When the Magpies went up to the Premiership in 1993 Keegan had led the side as player-manager. Wigan’s draw against Arsenal could be the point that will ultimately separate them from the relegation candidates come May.

Banaz Mahmod a 19-year-old Kurdish-born woman from south London was into marriage when she was 16 but left her husband and started a relationship with another man. She told police that her father had threatened to kill her and gave them a list of names of local men she feared he would hire to do the job but they didn’t listen. Her body was found buried in a garden in Birmingham in central England. Shazia Qayum 28 who grew up in Birmingham knows some of what they have been through: she was forced to marry her cousin when she was 17. “It started when I was 15. I came back from school one day and my mother showed me a picture of my cousin in Pakistan and said I was going to marry him. I was told that saying no wasn’t an option and that if I did I wouldn’t be allowed to finish my education.
