This food distributor specializing in fresh produce and perishable foods has watched its revenue steadily climb for several years pushing the retailer into the top half of the Birmingham 100. In 2001 the company posted revenue of $29. 4 million which had the company ranked 95th in the area among private companies. Wyatt General Contractor LLC was tapped to work on the $4. 8 million National Computer Forensic Institute in Hoover. Wyatt will build out the 33000-square-foot facility for the U. Department of Homeland Security which is slated to be complete by next summer. The institute will serve as a national cyber crimes training facility for state and local police officers prosecutors and others. The building will include classrooms a computer forensic lab a research and development area an evidence vault and exhibit space.

That gives the city of Birmingham two private companies with annual revenue of more than $2 billion for the first time.
