• Bruce: We owe debutant keeperThe former Coventry player added to Blues striker Garry ‘Connor’s opener with his first goal since netting against Stoke in February. Blues dominated the opening half against their League Two opponents but they were left hanging on after the impressive Theo Robinson had reduced the arrears with 18 minutes remaining. The Bulls looked out of it at the interval but a fine strike by Theo Robinson pulled them back into the match and there was some desperate defending from the home side before they secured a placein the third round. Hereford came under constant attack in the early stages but the defence held up well under the sustained onslaught. In their rare attacks the pace of Lionel Ainsworth and Robinson posed the occasional threat although Robinson blotted his copybook with a clumsy challenge which brought a yellow card. Just when it seemed as if Hereford had survived the early danger Birmingham struck.
